More than a sport, snowboarding has evolved into a means of exploring how I move and navigate the environment. Controlling an edge on a very steep slope and negotiating speed and resistance, feel to me like having a superpower that allows me to stop time and attain a state of hyperfocus and harmony that’s unmatched by any other experience.
After being a freestyle snowboarder throughout my teens and early twenties, I became a semi-professional big-mountain snowboarder. I have been competing in Freeride for years, consistently ranked in the top 10 of the European rankings. Today, competition occupies only little space in my snowboarding journey, although it has taught me to challenge my mental and technical skills, and moreover it gave me community.
I find every type of backcountry interesting, especially playful and powdery terrains, but it is the high mountains, steep slopes and remote areas that truly make me feel alive. Nowadays, the splitboard is my main tool of choice. For the last couple of years, I have thrown myself in the never-ending process of learning the ropes of alpinism, high-mountain travel and expeditions in faraway regions.
In collaboration with partners I produce media stories, films and articles that share these experiences with an audience passionate about adventure and environmental narratives.
